SteveCAD model creation and geometry inspection
Process demonstration — unvalidated engineering estimates. Assumptions, transferred estimates and unresolved requirements remain explicit. This readable view does not change the source evidence.
Earlier completed study work, shown alongside the later analysis continuation. This is a contextual CAD model, not the mesh used for the pipe-beam calculations.
The CAD model contains 25 rods with one provisional cubic-Bezier bow and no spacer-grid geometry. The inspection covers one rod pair at 50% nominal gap closure; it does not establish all-pairs clearances or contact behavior.
Model definition
| Quantity | Value | Origin |
|---|
| Rod array | 5 × 5; 24 straight rods and one bowed rod | Native SteveCAD build |
| Rod outside diameter | 9.5 mm | Supplied |
| Rod pitch | 12.6 mm | Supplied |
| Centerline span | 1000 mm | Provisional assumption |
| Wall thickness | 0.57 mm | Provisional assumption |
| Nominal closure | 50% | One geometry demonstration case |
| Spacer grid | Not modeled | Unresolved geometric/support limitation |
| Native build result | 25 solids; 49 features reported OK | Provider observation |
Clearance inspection of the exported geometry
| Measurement | Observed | Meaning |
|---|
| Closest surface gap | 1.55000 mm | One bowed/adjacent rod pair |
| Target gap | 1.55 mm | Provisional 50% closure geometry |
| Comparison tolerance | 0.005 mm | Declared numerical comparison |
| Overlap volume | 0 mm³ | No overlap reported for this pair |
| Model recreated for inspection | No | Existing STEP reused |
| FEA/thermal solver run at this stage | No | Geometry inspection only |
Applicability limits
| Limitation |
|---|
| One rod pair in one provisional 50% closure geometry; not an all-pairs clearance survey or the full closure case matrix. |
| No spacer grid, spring/dimple, support or coolant geometry; physical feasibility remains unresolved. |
| Cubic Bezier bow differs from the currently proposed sinusoidal analysis basis; coordinate frames also differ by a translation. A must resolve the model choice. |
| Both native geometry tools use OpenCASCADE-derived kernels; this is separate-provider readback, not independent-kernel validation. |
| The provider auxiliary centreDistance field is retained in raw evidence but is not used as pitch or gap; its geometric reference is not established here. |
| Initial runner CLI summary raised KeyError after the run completed because the start response is a receipt, not the durable run record. Reconciled this exact run; no tool dispatch replay. |
